What Causes Low Water Pressure Throughout the House?

Low water pressure throughout the entire house (not just one fixture) has different causes for well water vs. city water. For well owners: failing pump, waterlogged pressure tank, clogged sediment filter, or a pressure switch set too low. For city water: partially closed main shutoff, failing pressure regulator, or scale buildup in older pipes. If pressure dropped suddenly, check for a leak — a broken pipe or irrigation line can drop whole-house pressure significantly.
