- 1Check the breaker panel — find the breaker labeled "Well Pump" or "Pump." If it is tripped (in the middle position), reset it once. If it trips again immediately, do not reset it — call us.
- 2Check the pressure gauge near the pressure tank. If it reads zero, the pump has likely failed or lost prime.
- 3Check that the pressure switch (the small box near the pressure tank) has not been damaged by a power surge.
- 4If you have a generator, do not attempt to run the well pump on a generator without knowing the pump's amperage draw — you can damage the motor.

No Water — Pump Failure
Sudden loss of water is the most common well emergency. We diagnose the cause — failed pump motor, tripped breaker, failed pressure switch, or broken drop pipe — and restore water as fast as possible.
Pump Running Constantly
A pump that never shuts off is burning out its motor. Usually caused by a failed pressure switch, a leak in the system, or a low-yield well. We find the cause and stop the damage.
Pump Short-Cycling
Pump turning on and off every few seconds. Usually a waterlogged pressure tank. We test the tank and replace it if needed — often restoring normal operation the same day.
Low Water Pressure
Sudden drop in water pressure throughout the house. Could be a partially failed pump, a clogged pump screen, or a drop pipe issue. We diagnose before pulling the pump.
Discolored Water After Storm
Brown or turbid water after heavy rain often indicates surface water intrusion into the well. We test the water and recommend appropriate treatment.
Air Sputtering from Faucets
Air in the water lines indicates the pump is drawing air — usually from a low water level in the well or a cracked drop pipe. We evaluate the well yield and pump depth.
